Continuing Education on Vision for OT/PT/SLP and Educators

Doesn’t it happen often that in the course of looking for something else you stumble over a gem?  Such was the case this morning.   While researching information for the new blog to my textbook, I came across a website for CE aimed primarily toward rehab specialists called Clinicans-View.

I’ve blogged before about the seminars that I do through CMI/Meds/PESI – and thoroughly enjoy interacting with occupational therapists, physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, and educators, as I’ll be doing again a couple of times in August.  But I’m always excited to discover new sources of information, particularly when it is available in the public domain.  My search unearthed the Bill Padula, Christine Nelson, Raquel Benabib connection as contained in the Clinician’s View course material.

Here is a link to the article by Raquel Benabib, MS, COVT, on Functional Vision and Its Impact on Learning and Motor Organization.  How cute is that ATNR?

…. and a link to an exceptionally good article by Ms. Benabib on Use of Rotary Prisms as a Modality During Physical Handling.  This article has a great case presentation of a Paula, a 3 year-old with spastic diplegia.

Lastly, take a look at this link to an article by W. Michael Magrun, MS, OTR/L and Ms. Benabib on the Visual-Postural Characteristics of Children with Disorganized Motor Control.
