Vote for Auggie Breakthrough Award

The Auggie Awards, popularly referred to as the “Oscars of VR/AR”, are awarded annually at Augmented World Expo (AWE) Conferences and represent the most prestigious peer recognition in the Virtual and Augmented Reality industry.  You may recall that I did a blog two years ago about NJIT professor of biomedical engineering Tara Alvarez, and her collaboration with Dr. Mitch Scheiman and Salus University on a VR/AR binocular gaming approach to vision therapy.

Dr. Alvarez and her team have been nominated this year for the  “Breakthrough Auggie Award,” jointly sponsored by AWE, IEEE and VR First.  You can follow this link to vote for Dr. Alvarez’s project, Virtual Reality Vision Therapy Verve–(Virtual Eye Rotation Vision Exercises–By OculoMotor Technologies).  OculoMotor Technologies’ (OMT) mission is to bring the latest technological advances to optometrists and vision therapists, enabling them to provide improved clinical outcomes and engaging therapeutic experiences to patients with binocular vision disorders) by integrating research-backed virtual reality assessments and therapies into their existing workflows.

There’a very quick registration process on the site in order to vote.  But hurry – there are only five days left to do it!
