Optometry For Everyone

Sounds ambitious, doesn’t it?  Actually this is the initiative of optometrist Benoit Lombaerts and the European Society of Optometrists (SOE) that just came to our attention via their Facebook page.

In short, the idea is to have a centralized online calendar where all of the events and meetings of optometric organizations and presenters worldwide are housed.  We’re pleased to see that there is a link to the VisionHelp blog front and rightward on the opening page of the site listing the Associations involved.  Thank you Benoit!

There is also a home for student optometric associations as well, making this the most comprehensive online resource of its kind that we’re aware of.

  1. Great idea, especially as optometry expands throughout the world!! Countries in which optometry is most developed could help those that are rapidly evolving and may need some guidance, especially politically. It would also act to make our profession more cohesive internationnally. It would serve for a great sharing of ideas/concepts/philosophies. We would get to “know” each other better.
