I haven’t seen the documentary yet on Sight: The Story of Vision, but you can keep track of its airings around the country on the film’s Facebook page.
One thing is clear: the documentary is likely to focus on the global issue of poor eyesight, and efforts to aid visual impairment will be discussed solely in terms of visual acuity. Unidimensional sight is synonymous with vision.
How long have we been on this mission of trying to educate the public that sight isn’t the story of vision? And how well has that message gotten across to the public?
