It’s That Time of the Year …

PartingThis is the time of year when current Residents depart their post, and incoming Residents begin their orientation.  Our practice is one of a growing group of private practices affiliated with Colleges of Optometry (SCO, PUCO, and SCCO to date) and accredited as Residency sites through the ACOE as detailed in an article in the Journal of Optometric Education.  Yesterday our staff held a celebratory luncheon to honor our outgoing Resident, Dr. Sandy Tran (graduate of Western University College of Optometry) and welcome our incoming Resident, Dr. Melissa Kendall (graduate of the Pennsylvania College of Optometry).

Dr. Sandy Tran holds a special distinction this year in being the first graduate of a VisionHelp Group practice Residency to join another practice with an established and thriving vision therapy program.  At the end of this month, Dr. Tran will join the practice of Dr. Gary Etting in her home state of California.  As important as it is for Residency graduates to add vision therapy services to primary care practices, or establish new practices incorporating vision therapy, it is equally rewarding to see Residency graduates extend the success of existing vision therapy practices.   We wish Dr. Tran much success in her collaboration with Dr. Etting, and look forward to following her burgeoning career with great expectations!

  1. Thank you for the kind words, Dr. Press. I can’t express how grateful I am for all the help and support by you and the rest of the team during this past year. Much appreciation and gratitude 😊

  2. This is a wonderful program. I remember it well. it not only helps incoming practitioners get true practice experience, it also keeps you on your toes with the latest knowledge. Keep up the god work.
